Servers, DNS and anoying things that run the Internet.
Just had a quite look at the SiRMoneys Server Uptime, its currently sitting on 70 Days. Which is getting close to my record of 120days, which was a windows xp lol. I really need to work out some kinda of automated backup… Not sure ‘what’ files to back up.
Ive given up, for now, my idea of running my own SiRMonkeys external DNS Server. I have it working on the internal computer, but for the life of me i can seem to get it to work in the out side world. I might have to find a book or something. The only way i know how to test it now is, on a windows box,
C:\>nslookup sirmonkeys.com *** Can't find server name for address 60.242.67.169: No response from server Server: home.gateway Address: 192.168.1.254 Non-authoritative answer: Name: sirmonkeys.com Address: 60.242.67.169
or

i have darkaxi0m.name pointing to SiRMonkeys, but i’m not sure how to test if sirmonkeys is accepting dns requests.
Also, Ive have to find the cash to pay for SiRMonkeys dnydns account before the end of the month.. yay stupid hobby!
